Previous cultures took the symbolic significance of reality for granted.
For Bernardo, it is perhaps the greatest tragedy of our time that we have withdrawn this meaning from life. Our culture thinks that meaning is in what we achieve rather than the magic of what we are.
Today, we'll further explore Bernardo's view that waking and dreaming are different ways to experience the same reality, that waking life is as richly symbolic as dreams.
