The body and its boundaries

Q&A with Bernardo Kastrup 11th Nov 2025

The body and its boundaries

Where does your body end and the world begin?

This seems obvious, yet on close inspection, the body is constantly exchanging its parts with the environment. Parts we do not think of as 'alive' such as oxygen, hydrogen and carbon. The body needs the planet, the galaxy and the whole universe to contain and sustain it.

In Bernardo's Analytic Idealism, every living creature is a dissociation within a Universal Consciousness that underpins all of reality.

The body is what a dissociative boundary 'looks like' from another vantage point.

This session is a chance to think about what the body represents, why we identify with it, and how it is connected with the boundaries of dissociation or a sense of Self.

I'm looking forward to exploring this with Bernardo and all of you, Tues 11th Nov, 6-8pm UK time / 7-9pm CET / 1-3pm EST

Until then!
